and personnel dealing with priority
setting and significant external liaison
during a spill
- Any personnel involved with the decision-making processes in a response or in liaison with the relevant authorities

This half-day course is a minimum requirement for any individual who is part of an onshore management team or is an advisor.
This DECC accredited course provides delegates with the knowledge to undertake the role of corporate decision-maker during an incident and includes a detailed assessment of the role of the SOSREP and the activation of the OCU. The course presents a high-level overview of response issues and priority setting. Specifically designed to raise awareness of personnel selected to undertake the role of an executive or corporate decision-maker, this course meets DECC Level 2 standard.

- Understand the role of SOSREP and the OCU and how it interfaces with the company response procedures.
- Effectively use an Oil Spill Emergency Plan (OPEP) in a response
- Know the legislative and statutory requirements in UK waters
- Know the reporting procedures required under OPRC and MARPOL
- Appreciate the claims and compensation schemes
- Appreciate different response strategies
- Reporting procedures required under OPRC and MARPOL, proven by the use of the PON1 form
